Jim Marshall’s extraordinary Life’s work at Clickers & Flickers' photography-networking dinner.

The one and only Jim Marshall (1936-2010) was C&F's guest speaker on May 25, 2005 - a wild

night with fond memories!

Come see moments in History through Jim Marshall’s lens.  From the 1950’s North Beach Jazz scene in San Francisco through the turmoil of the 60’s and the Rock & Roll explosion in America. The only photographer at Johnny Cash’s Folsom and San Quentin groundbreaking live Concerts and The Beatles last live concert at Candlestick Park. Marshall documented music icons such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Rolling Stones, The Who, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry and The American culture that Jazz and Rock and Roll shaped.  Marshall's own quote is “It’s Never Just Been a Job, It’s Been My Life”.

In 2014 Marshall became the first and only photographer to be honored by the Grammys with a Trustees Award for his lifework.  In Jim’s own words, “ …We were documenting History and didn’t know it.”Amelia Davis is the sole owner and manager of Jim Marshall Photography LLC. Amelia, “Davis”, was Jim's assistant for his last thirteen years, and, to whom Jim entrusted his "children" to care for and protect. Amelia, an accomplished award winning photographer, has published three photographic books of her own work and has been included in numerous gallery and juried exhibitions.

The Estate of Jim Marshall presented the new book The Haight: Love, Rock and Revolution- The Photography Of Jim Marshall, written by Joel Selvin, with much excitement at Photokina 2014.  Amelia will be presenting images from this book and will be available to sign copies of the book.

Clickers & Flickers’ photo-networking dinners, best described as a "Mini Photo Festival", are open to the public.
