EVERLY HOUWING, Wildlife & Travel photographer, presents "Capturing the Wild" at

Clickers & Flickers' photo-networking dinner.  Her talk will focus on photographing wildlife & landscapes and how planning where and when you travel can help achieve wonderful results.  She will share many photos of amazing animals, beautiful locations and discuss capturing images with regard to: Optimal Lighting; Use of Color; Action; Drama; Humor, Daylight; Starlight, Moonlight; Weather; Unique Situations & Opportunities; Making Ordinary Subjects more Interesting; and Tips for Getting Better shots... not in a boring dry way, but with lots of stories, images and some good ideas to remember for your next photo adventure!

Professionally, Beverly worked at Adobe Systems as a Business Development Manager and now enjoys doing freelance work in graphics, photography, photo retouching & web site design. For the past 14 years she has been teaching the Adobe Creative Suite applications and is an Adobe Certified Instructor and Print Specialist.

Beverly has had a passion for photography and a love for animals as long as she can remember. She feels photos have a lot of influence on our lives in general. Pictures make us aware of many new things, and often compel us to care about places & creatures we might otherwise never get to

know.   At age eleven, on her first trip to Africa, she was “hooked” and has been making regular trips there ever since. She has traveled to over 50 countries capturing images of many unique places and the animals that live there.

Beverly's work in photography appears in galleries, including the G2 Gallery in Venice, CA, and is featured in Smithsonian and other magazines.  She organizes photo-safaris in Africa and has just returned from Namibia & South Africa and is taking a group to Botswana & Zimbabwe next August. Details are on her web site... www.squidgallery.com in the “Photo Trips” section.  Her photography and artwork raise money for organizations like Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS/LA), Best Friends Animal Society, Rotary Club, the Sierra Club, National Park Service and other organizations.

Clickers & Flickers’ photo-networking dinners are open to the public.
